According to DigiTimes reports, Apple is considering the launch of a foldable iPad. the report cited sources in the upstream supply chain and the previous rumours about foldable iPad.
In January, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that a foldable iPad would be released in 2024, but Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman and DSCC CEO Ross Young said they hadn’t heard of such a device. Kuo said the foldable iPad will feature a new design with a lightweight and durable carbon fibre stand. Similar to foldable phones from brands like Samsung and Google, the foldable iPad will have a hinge that opens and closes like a book, providing a larger display when unfolded than current models.
The exact specifications and price of the foldable iPad are not yet known, but it’s likely to be higher than the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, which starts at $1,099 (currently around RMB 7,902). Apple hasn’t announced any devices with foldable displays yet, but there are rumours that the company is considering all its options in the long term, including foldable iPhones, iPads and Macs. however, it remains to be seen whether Apple will actually launch these devices or just limit its plans to the R&D stage.
