Sunwoda signed contract with battery company Power-X at Tokyo Motor Show

During the Japan Mobility Show (commonly known as the “Tokyo Auto Show”) held from October 25th to November 5th, Sunwoda Power announced its cooperation with Power-x, Japan’s largest energy storage battery company. A cooperation signing ceremony was held, and both parties will jointly develop and promote advanced energy storage battery products.

Sunwoda Chairman Wang Wei said in his speech that Power-x has very professional knowledge and rich experience in energy storage technology, and Sunwoda Power has innate advantages in battery technology and market channels. The cooperation between the two parties will provide The global energy storage industry brings more technological innovation and industrial value. Power-x senior representatives said that the efforts and cooperation between the two parties will involve multiple fields such as research and development, manufacturing and marketing, and will help accelerate the transformation of global energy.

In addition, Sunwoda also displayed products and technologies such as large cylindrical batteries, solid-state batteries, and low-temperature sodium-ion batteries during this auto show, as well as the world’s first ultra-fast charging battery – flash charging battery, which can charge to 80% battery capacity and supports 1,000 kilometers of battery life.

Sunwoda announced in August this year that Sunwoda Power Technology Co., Ltd., through its subsidiary Hungarian Sunwoda Power Technology Co., Ltd., would invest approximately 1.9 billion yuan locally to build new energy vehicles. The first phase of the power plant is mainly engaged in the manufacturing and sales of lithium-ion batteries and power battery systems.

Power-x built Japan’s largest battery factory at the end of last year. It is planned to be completed in October 2023 and officially put into production around the spring of 2024. The plant is expected to have a maximum annual output of 5GWh, equivalent to the electricity consumption of approximately 450,000 households in Japan for a day.

PowerX was founded in March 2021 with an eye on making high-capacity and affordable batteries. President Masahiro Ito also mentioned the development and manufacturing projects of pure electric vehicle (EV) charging stations and power ships.
