STMicroelectronics announced its third quarter 2022 financial report this week. According to the financial report, STMicroelectronics’ third-quarter net revenue was $4.32 billion (about 31.32 billion yuan), with a gross profit margin of 47.6%, an operating profit margin of 29.4%, and a net profit of $1.10 billion (about 7.975 billion yuan), diluted per share. The income is 1.16 yuan.
STMicroelectronics said that net revenue in the third quarter of 2022 totaled $4.32 billion, a year-on-year increase of 35.2%. Compared with the same period last year, the company achieved year-over-year net sales growth across all product segments and all sub-businesses. Revenue from the OEM and agency channels increased by 34.1% and 37.4% YoY, respectively. Third-quarter net revenue improved 12.6% sequentially, 210 basis points above the company’s midpoint guidance. All product segments reported a sequential increase in net revenue.
The financial report shows that capital expenditures (after deducting asset sales income) in the third quarter of 2022 were US$955 million (about 6.924 billion yuan), and the first three quarters totaled US$2.61 billion (about 18.922 billion yuan).
In terms of business outlook, STMicroelectronics’ company guidance (median) for the fourth quarter of 2022 is: net revenue is expected to be US$4.40 billion (about 31.9 billion yuan), an increase of about 1.8% from the previous quarter, and a gross profit margin of about 47.3%.
