Recently, we obtained a set of test spy photos of the new Porsche 911 from foreign media, which is expected to be officially unveiled in 2024. The new car codenamed 992.2, has been slightly upgraded in appearance. It is expected that Turbo and Turbo S models will be equipped with a mild hybrid system and will use a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine, which will further improve power.
As for the appearance, there is no doubt that the overall shape is still the classic Porsche 911 design language. Compared with the current 991 model, the new car has changes in the vents on the front surround, which are further enlarged in size and adopt a three-bar air intake grille. Additionally, the vents are expected to be equipped with vertical grilles inside that can be opened or closed as needed for airflow.
On the side of the car body, the plump rear fender shape is still unique, and paired with the side air intake shape, it is full of sportiness. In addition, the new car uses Porsche’s classic double five-spoke wheels and is equipped with central locking. Large brake calipers and brake discs will provide sufficient braking performance for the vehicle.
At the rear of the car, the new car still uses penetrating LED taillights, and the specific shape of the internal light group may also have slight changes. The exhaust adopts a layout with four outlets on both sides, embedded in the surround. A more exaggerated rear diffuser is used at the bottom to further stretch the overall visual width.
In terms of power, the Turbo and Turbo S models are expected to be equipped with a mild hybrid system and will use a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine. While power is further improved, the vehicle’s low torque and fuel economy will be optimized.
