According to news on November 1, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said on Tuesday local time that it had completed a safety review of the SpaceX Starship, and the spacecraft is one step closer to obtaining a second launch license.
In April, SpaceX, led by Elon Musk, exploded during an orbital flight test of its Starship. Before Starship can fly again, the FAA needs to conduct an extensive evaluation, and a safety review is an important part of that.
The FAA is focused on the possible impact of flight testing on public health and property.
The FAA is also working with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service on an environmental review of the Starship test. The FAA has 135 days from Oct. 19 to assess the impact of Starship and its launch on the local environment.
