January 16, 2013 – SP Toolbox has launched the UD85 series of PCIe Gen 4 NVMe solid-state drives. The drives are positioned at the entry-level and are more cost-effective, offering 250GB, 500GB, and 1TB and 2TB versions.
Based on PCIe 4.0 and NVMe 1.4 protocols, the UD85 features SLC cache and support for memory buffer (HMB) technology with 3600 MB/s sequential read and 2800 MB/s sequential write speeds.
In addition, the UD85 supports low-density gap check (LDPC) codes for accurate data transfer and reliable data access, while operating in RAID mode to protect data from drive failure, and has built-in E2E data protection and automatic error correction (ECC) for consistent data transfer.
SP Toolbox also offers SP Toolbox software that provides access to drive data such as SMART, wear level, and also offers features such as running diagnostic tests, and securely erase data.
It’s worth mentioning that this SSD does not come with a cooler and will also come with a five-year warranty.
