Sony Xperia 1 V phone receives Android 14 system update

Following Samsung, Sony’s latest and most powerful flagship phone Xperia 1 V also received the Android 14 system update. However, as usual, users may have to wait a few more days because it is pushed in batches. It takes days or even weeks to receive this update.

Currently, the deployment of the Android 14 system for the Xperia 1 V phone has begun in some European regions. The size of the update package is 1.3GB. The main changes are interface adjustments, system enhancements and some additional features. It also includes the latest October 2023 security patch.

The update is “clean” overall, largely replicating the changes and improvements Google has added to its Pixel devices, but Sony is also adding its own personalization features to the update, such as the recently launched enhanced virtual reality features on the Xperia 5 V. mode and video creation applications.

It is noticed that the Xperia 1 V went on sale in June this year. It is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and is also equipped with an advanced 4K HDR OLED display. The machine is billed as Sony’s first movie-like imaging phone. The price is not cheap, starting from 8,999 CNY in China.
