Sony to launch at least 5 Xperia models next year switch to under-screen fingerprint recognition

On November 5 – Important phones from major manufacturers have been released this year, and reports are now focusing on the models that will be released next year. Sony is also quietly developing new models, and the company reportedly has at least five phones in development.

Japanese website SumahoDigest often leaks information about Sony products, and recently it reported some information obtained from Sony forums, saying that Sony will release the following models at least in 2023.

Xperia PRO-II

Xperia 10 V

Xperia Ace IV

Xperia 1 V

Xperia 5 V

The forum post says that three of the models, presumably the Xperia PRO-II, Xperia 1 V and Xperia 5 V, will be powered by the rumored Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, while one model, probably the small-screen Ace IV, will be powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 chip, and one model, presumably the Xperia 10 V, will be powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1.

The leak also claims that the Ace model, which is usually only available in Sony’s home country of Japan, will also make its way to the global market, which is good news for anyone looking for an Android alternative to the Apple iPhone mini.

The report says that the Xperia 1 V, 5 V and 10 V will stick to their current release patterns, meaning that the 1 V and 10 V will be released in May, while the 5 V will be released in September.

The news also says that Sony is finally ready to abandon physical fingerprint recognition in favor of under-screen fingerprint recognition, which most Android manufacturers have long since switched to.

As for other configurations, the Sony Xperia 1 V and 5 V could have a 1-inch camera sensor, a powerful speaker system, and a new design. More rumors may start surfacing in the coming months.
