Sony PlayStation official blog on Thursday released a new article, detailing more details of the PlayStation Access accessibility controller and at the same time announced the production of adaptive kits with Logitech G cooperation.
According to the article, the development of the PlayStation Access controller began five years ago, and developers have held “countless” in-depth discussions with accessibility experts and community players with disabilities to continually improve its design, which officials say is designed to help players with disabilities operate the game more comfortably and for a longer period of time.
The controller is said to be “packaged to be opened with one hand,” with pull tabs on both sides of the box for easy operation, and pull tabs inside the box for easy removal of various parts in a sliding format, providing an “out-of-the-box” solution for gamers with disabilities.
The blog post also introduces a new product: the Logitech G Adaptive Gaming Kit, which was developed by Logitech, PlayStation, and the accessibility community, and is an official accessory for PlayStation Access. The kit will be available in January 2024 on Logitech’s official website and at select retail stores for a suggested retail price of $79.99 (currently about RMB 585 RMB).
The controller is described as having the following features:
- 8 plug-and-play buttons and triggers, including two small and two large buttons, two flick buttons with gaming-grade mechanical switches, and two variable trigger controllers. Gamers can easily configure them on the PS5 controller to meet your gaming needs.
- The firm gaming pad features a hook-and-loop system that gives players the freedom to arrange the buttons and triggers to meet their unique needs.
- Velcro straps “maximize” mounting options, such as attaching buttons and triggers to objects such as armrests.
- Customized PS5 symbol stickers allow players to easily label buttons and triggers for a seamless gaming experience.
In addition to Logitech’s set of controllers, gamers can connect other third-party buttons, specialized switches, and other compatible accessories via the PlayStation Access controller’s four 3.5mm expansion ports for even more versatility.
