Sony is cancelling the share to X platform function in its PS5 and PS4 game consoles. Users will soon be unable to directly share game screenshots and record screens to the X platform in the relevant game consoles with one click.
Sony claimed on its official website and console announcement: “After November 13, 2023, the integration of PS5 and PS4 game consoles with the X platform (formerly known as Twitter) will ‘no longer work’, and users will not be able to directly access the Any content on the X platform can be viewed on the PS4 platform, and game screenshots and trophies cannot be shared to the X platform from the PS5 and PS4 platforms with one click.”

Sony did not explain why it would cancel the integration of PS5 and PS4 game consoles with the X platform, but foreign media The Verge believes that this may be because Musk’s new policy requires Sony to pay more API fees to the X platform.
Sony also stated that users can still use the PlayStation App to quickly obtain players’ game screenshots and screen recordings, and manually share them on social media platforms.
In addition to Sony, Microsoft had removed the one-click sharing to X platform option on Xbox as early as April this year. Following Microsoft and Sony, Nintendo may also give up related functions on the Switch platform shortly.
