Sony PlayStation VR2 will be equipped with MediaTek’s first VR chip, available in February next year

At today’s MediaTek Executive Summit, MediaTek launched its first SoC for the VR field, which will be carried on Sony’s upcoming PlayStation VR2. On the stage, MediaTek even took out the Sony PlayStation VR2 to show everyone.

The exact details of this SoC are not yet known, and it is expected to be announced on the eve of the launch of Sony’s PlayStation VR2.

At the same time, Sony also revealed some design details of its PlayStation VR2.

While MediaTek didn’t provide many details, it did show attendees how the PlayStation VR2 is different, and this will be the first time a MediaTek processor will be used in VR.

The Sony PlayStation VR2 will be released on February 22, 2023, and pre-orders will begin on November 15, priced at $549.99 in the United States. It’s worth mentioning that the current PS VR model is only $199.99.
