Sony LinkBud S leaked, promises noise cancellation and open sound

The Sony LinkBuds S with the WF-LSN900 model number is in the works, claims TheWalkmanBlog. Well-known tipster Snoopy Tech has shared the leaked renders of the upcoming Sony earbuds to showcase its design in full glory. Here is all the information on the key features and design of what appears to be the cheaper version of the Sony LinkBuds.

Sony LinkBud S leaked render, key features

The first generation of Sony LinkBuds had a distinguished open earpiece design. It allowed ambient sounds to enter your ears while music was playing. The second-generation LinkBuds are more traditional in style, as shown in the LinkBuds S. There’s a silicone earplug as well as a circular body, which is similar to what you’d find on most earbuds. They are, on the other hand, rather modest in comparison to the company’s gigantic flagship earphones.

Once it becomes official, the branding of the earbuds will be in the name Sony LinkBuds S (WF-LSN900). The designation of the original model is WF-L900. More crucially, it features a hole in the middle of the ear tip that allows for unhindered ambient sound transmission.

The S model, on the other hand, will purportedly include an Ambient Mode to accomplish the same thing. This mode is available on a variety of other TWS buds and transmits sound from the buds’ microphones to your ears, although it never sounds quite as good as the real thing.

What the LinkBuds S do is that other TWS buds do not trigger the Ambient Mode automatically – the buds will learn when to switch between Ambient and ANC modes based on your activity.

One of the advantages of the S model is its Active noise cancellation (ANC). The configuration will be similar to the WF-1000XM4 model. Additionally, these should provide a more immersive listening experience than the original LinkBuds.

Sony LinkBuds S price (rumored)

There is no word on the cost of buying the LinkBuds S yet, but if the ordinary LinkBuds are any indicator, these should cost between $150 and $200. However, none is legitimate until Sony makes it official. Currently, the WF-1000XM4 is available for €280 (MSRP), the original LinkBuds are available for €180, and the WF-C500 is available for €70.
