And recently gaming statistician VGcharts released comparative sales figures related to the PS5, which showed that as of August 2023, the PS5 has sold a total of 42,225,876 units (about 42.23 million units) worldwide, while the Xbox Series X|S has sold 23,234,256 units (about 23.23 million units).

VGcharts in the last month also on the Sony camp calendar generation sales data (July 2023 data) to compare, which shows that PS5 sales were slightly lower than the same period of PS4 sales, but exceeded the same period of PS3 sales.
