Sony previously brought a new version of Beta firmware for PS5, it was reported earlier, in addition to additional “dual handle” and other features, Sony also brought “Dolby Atmos” support for PS5.
Recently, PlayStation senior sound designer Loic Couthier released a post on the X platform, which answered fans’ questions about the “Dolby Atmos” support hardware in the PS5 firmware.

Loic Couthier has reportedly said that all games that support 3D audio will have automatic Dolby Atmos sound mixing, which will be available as soon as the new firmware is released, while games that don’t support 3D audio will need to use the corresponding Dolby Atmos sound mixing patch.
However, there’s no word on when the new PS5 firmware will be released. Only PS5 players in the United States, Canada, Japan, the United Kingdom, Germany, and France can test the Beta firmware, while PS5 players in China can’t test it directly.
