Foreign technology media The Verge reported in March this year that Sonos was developing a second-generation portable Move speaker; and in a new report released today, more details about the new speaker were shared again.
The overall appearance design of the second-generation portable Move speaker has not changed, but a new “olive” color scheme has been introduced on the basis of the existing black and white.
The highlight of the second-generation portable Move speaker is its battery life, which has been increased from 10 hours to 24 hours, and Sonos has also reduced power consumption in standby mode, providing a longer battery life.
In terms of performance, the second-generation portable Move speaker supports stereo sound, can play Bluetooth music in the Sonos system via Wi-Fi, and another added feature is the use of a wired line-in via USB-C.
In terms of water resistance, the second-generation portable Move speaker is IP65 dust and water-resistant, with drop protection.
In terms of connectivity, the second-generation portable Move speaker supports HomeKit/AirPlay like the previous generation but supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0.
It is reported that Sonos will launch the second-generation portable Move speaker in “late September”, and the price will rise from $399 to $499.
