Officially refurbished Mac Studios are available today in select Apple Online Stores for up to $400 less than brand new models. Two officially refurbished Mac Studio configurations are currently available in the U.S., with the M1 Max chip (10-core CPU and 24-core GPU) priced at $1,799 ($1,999 new) and the M1 Ultra chip (20-core CPU and 48-core GPU) priced at $3,599 ($3,999 new).
Officially refurbished Mac Studio is currently only available in the United States, Canada, and select European countries (Belgium, Germany, Ireland, Spain, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom). I checked Apple’s refurbished website in China, and the Mac Studio is not currently on the shelves.
The AppleCare+ service plan for Mac provides up to three years of expert technical support and an additional hardware warranty from Apple, including up to two accidental damage warranties every 12 months for the appropriate service fee: RMB 799 for screen damage or enclosure damage; and RMB 2299 for other accidental damage. For other accidental damage, a service fee of RMB 2,299 will be charged. The service period begins on the date of purchase of the AppleCare+ service plan.
China’s consumer protection law includes a “three-pack” provision that gives consumers a two-year warranty on the quality of major components from the date of purchase of the Mac. In Zhejiang Province, the Consumer Protection Law gives consumers a three-year warranty on desktop computers from the date of purchase. On top of that, most Apple products also come with 90 days of free telephone technical support and a one-year limited warranty from Apple.
