Smaller Google Pixel devices are in the pipeline according to rumours

Not every smartphone manufacturing company is keen to roll out small devices, but rumours claim that smaller Google Pixel devices are in development. This might seem off since a major rival Apple left off its mini entry due to low sales. But Google might be willing to take the risk and delve into the market for smaller devices.

Already, the company has the Pixel 6a to its name, which is a relatively small device with a 6.1-inch screen. Well, with this rumoured Pixel device, we are stepping below the 6-inch device category. One of the few recent flagship Android devices sitting below the 6-inch category is the ASUS Zenfone 9 with its 5.9-inch screen size.

Google on its part is not new to the sub-6-inch range, we can say this because two years ago the company launched a device with a 5.8-inch screen. The Google Pixel 4a ushered in a new design trend for the company, one that went on for over a year. Despite its miniature size, it still packed a punch in the mid-range flagship market.

We don’t know the details of this coming “smaller Google Pixel device” and at this stage, it is still a rumour. Possibly more information about this entry will become available in the coming months. If there is any such device in Google’s production line, we will expect to see it launch next year.

This device might launch under the Google Pixel 7 series, possibly as the Pixel 7a. It seems very unlikely for Google to roll out a new series for a sub-6-inch device since the market for such is still unsure. We will provide more information regarding this device in the coming months as we learn more about it.
