Skyworth’s new HT-i model will go on sale tonight. The vehicle is positioned as an entry-level midsize SUV, with the biggest highlight being the use of BYD’s DM-i plug-in powertrain, and has recently opened for pre-sale with a price range of 149,800-199,800 yuan. As a sibling of the Skyworth EV6, the HT-i continues the design style of the EV6 but uses a redesigned grille on the front, which Skyworth Automotive calls the Gravitational Wave Aesthetic Concept.

The car’s length, width and height are 469819081696 mm, with a wheelbase of 2800 mm, officially known as a medium-sized SUV, which is actually the size of a compact SUV, but its longer wheelbase ensures ample internal space.

The car’s interior is not as simple as the new car-making forces that technology, but rather looks a bit old-fashioned, such as the center console, the door panels are made of dark wood grain decorative pieces, coupled with black interior trim, looks a bit old-fashioned.

Of course, it is also equipped with a 12.3-inch full LCD instrument panel and 12.8-inch floating center screen and hidden air conditioning vents, considered to keep up with the mainstream camp products.

Power is the biggest highlight of the car, which is equipped with the DM-i super hybrid system from BYD.

The system consists of a prime-cloud-plug-in 1.5L high-efficiency engine with a thermal efficiency of 43.04%, a maximum power of 81kW and a peak torque of 135N-M, and an EHS electric hybrid system powertrain, with an officially announced new car with a pure electric range of 200km, a combined range of 1267km, and minimum power-loss fuel consumption as low as 5.3L/100km.

In view of BYD delivery needing to wait for weeks or even months, then equipped with its core technology Skyworth HT-i may be able to become some kind of alternative, only a home appliance brand produced by the car, or pending market validation.
