the U.S. Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) data show that global semiconductor sales in 2022 reached $573.5 billion (currently about RMB 3.88), setting a new record.
Despite a slowdown in sales in the second half of the year, global semiconductor sales in 2022 grew 3.2 percent year-over-year, up from $555.9 billion in 2021 (currently about RMB 3.76 trillion).
In December 2022, global semiconductor sales were $43.4 billion (currently about RMB 293.818 billion), down 4.4 percent from November.
Despite short-term sales volatility, the long-term outlook for the semiconductor market remains strong as chips play an increasingly important role in increasing global intelligence and efficiency and enhancing connectivity, said John Neuffer, SIA’s president and chief executive officer.
