Global semiconductor industry sales in October were US$46.9 billion, down 4.6% year-on-year

According to foreign media reports, after entering the second half of the year, due to the lower-than-expected sales of consumer electronics products and servers, global semiconductor sales have also declined significantly. Data from many institutions have shown that sales have declined significantly. Manufacturers have also been affected, and some manufacturers are already preparing to adjust their plans.

The latest report from the Semiconductor Industry Association shows that in October this year, the sales of the global semiconductor industry fell to US$46.9 billion, which was lower than the US$49.1 billion in the same period last year, a year-on-year decrease of 4.6%; it was also lower than the US$47 billion in September. A slight decrease from the previous quarter.

Judging from the news disclosed by John Neuffer, CEO and President of the Semiconductor Industry Association, the 4.6% year-on-year decline in the global semiconductor industry in October was the highest month-on-year decline since December 2019.

Although the overall sales have declined significantly year-on-year, there are still significant growth in some markets.

According to data from the Semiconductor Industry Association, sales in the American market in October increased by 11.4% year-on-year, the European market increased by 9.3% year-on-year, and the Japanese market increased by 3.9% year-on-year. The sales of the semiconductor industry in the American market in October also increased by 2.2% month-on-month, the European market increased by 0.2%, but the Japanese market fell by 0.1%.
