Shanling Audio released a new HiFi headphone – Shanling ME900, using two-turn six-iron four-way architecture, based on last year’s ME800 a number of improvements, and will be on sale early this month.

The ME900 is a two-turn, six-iron, four-way architecture with dual crystal-plated bio-diaphragm moving coil units + 2+2+2 custom moving iron units in pure titanium housing.
Compared to its predecessor, the Shanling ME900 features a further upgraded ergonomic design, optimizing the rear cavity based on big data surveys, making the ME900 more comfortable to wear.
The Shanling ME900 also uses a hollowed-out panel design for the first time. The shape of the panel is inspired by traditional Chinese landscape paintings, with the peaks as the main body, conveying the beauty of a tranquil and distant landscape like mountains and flowing water.
The Shanling ME900 is also equipped with a double switch and four adjustable tones.

Compared to the previous generation ME800, the ME900 is more satisfying in terms of its spatiality, its soundstage height is more upward and spacious, giving a sense of three-dimensionality, and its horizontal and vertical proportions more appropriate, making the rendition of OST and classical tracks more neat and tidy. For those who like pop music, you can turn on the low-frequency switch according to your personal preference, which will give you a more solid and upward feeling of richness in the low frequencies, along with a slightly thicker and more reverberant midrange; the high-frequency switch will significantly enhance the expression of the upper part of the high frequencies, which will seem more glossy and tougher, and the instrumental performance will be more eye-catching. The instrumental performance will be more eye-catching. In terms of pairing, ME900 is generally suitable for front ends with a warm sound, for example, I personally prefer to pair it with M7, which is enough omnivorous; while most of our colleagues prefer to pair it with H7 to listen to it: the richness and strong reverb of H7 can further enhance the smoothness and pleasantness of ME900, making it thicker and warmer. For a neutral front end, I personally recommend using the vocal set that comes with the ME900 to get a stronger sense of smoothness."
