The United States Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) latest report mentioned that 2022 is a historic year for the semiconductor industry, the industry still continues to face significant challenges, the industry is known for the cycle, the market cycle is expected to the second half of 2023 demand will rebound.
According to Taiwan’s Economic Daily, SIA stated that the chip shortage has previously reminded people of the importance of semiconductors, and 2022 will be a very successful and important year for the industry because semiconductors have a greater impact on the world than in the past.
However, SIA said that chip shortages will gradually ease in 2022, global semiconductor sales growth will slow down sharply in the second half of this year, and industry utilization rates will decline.
Taking automotive semiconductors as an example, Morgan Stanley pointed out that some automotive semiconductors such as MCU and CIS suppliers, including Renesas Semiconductor, ON Semiconductor, etc., are currently reducing some chip testing in the fourth quarter. Orders show that automotive chips are no longer out of stock.
