Seagate today launched its first PCIe Gen5 M.2 NVMe SSD, the FireCuda 540.
Aimed at content creators and high-end PC gamers, this SSD features the latest 3D TLC NAND particles (Micron B58R 232L) and the Qunar PS5026-E26 host controller, with sequential read and write speeds of up to 10000 MB/s and random read and write of 1.30M~1.50M, and DirectStorage support, which is 50% faster than similar PCIe 4.0 SSDs, which is 50% faster than similar PCIe SSDs.
In addition to higher read and write speeds, the FireCuda 540 also has a 1.8M Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and up to 2000 TB of Total Bytes Written (TBW). Theoretically, you will be fine even if you read and write 1TB of data per day for the next five years.
The SSD also comes with a three-year Rescue data recovery service and a five-year limited warranty and is officially available today for $179.99 for the 1TB model (currently about RMB 1,303) and $299.99 for the 2TB model (currently about RMB 2,172).
