Computer accessories company Satechi has just announced its latest USB hub, which supports USB 4 and is designed to be used with Apple MacBooks and other laptops that use this latest connectivity standard. The USB 4 Multiport Adapter with 2.5G Ethernet is designed to provide greater connectivity with all the ports needed for a complete work or home setup. In addition, this 6-in-1 adapter uses the next-generation USB-4 protocol to provide upgraded bandwidth management and data transfer, allowing files to be accessed faster.
With its six dedicated ports, the USB-4 Multi-Port Adapter may be the only device you may need when traveling, with a one-stop offering of 2.5G Ethernet, 8K HDMI, two USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 (one supporting PD charging) and a USB-A port plus an audio jack port.
Using a multi-port adapter with direct HDMI connectivity on a supported host device, users can connect an external display with resolutions up to 8K at 60Hz via the HDMI port. Using the hub’s 2.5Gbps NIC interface enables high-speed Ethernet communication with backward compatibility to 10/100/1000Mbps.
Thanks to next-generation USB-4 technology, the multi-port adapter provides upgraded bandwidth for video and data at rates up to 40Gbps and is backward compatible with Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C devices. For legacy devices, the USB-A port can also support speeds up to 10Gbps.
This new Satechi hub is designed for a variety of devices, including the latest versions of the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air (M1 Pro & Max and M2), iPad Pro, Mac mini and iMac. It is also compatible with Android devices, Microsoft Surface Laptop, Google Pixelbook Go, Chromebook and Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro S.
