Samsung is rumored to be bringing camera upgrades to the Galaxy S23 series, just like the Galaxy S22 Ultra, and the Korean manufacturer will likely pool more resources to make the upcoming Galaxy S23 Ultra stand out. One way to do that is to bring advanced optics to the top-of-the-line phone, and of course, a new trademark that, according to a new leak, is related to imaging technology known as Hexa²pixel.
Given that the Galaxy S23 Ultra is rumored to come with a huge primary camera, the new trademark may hint at a 6-in-1 binning technology.
The term Hexa²pixel was spotted on the TM View website, and the trademark was filed by none other than Samsung. As the image below shows, the trademark was approved on July 19, which is why we’re seeing it appear now. We believe it will be used in marketing materials to make the Galaxy S23 Ultra more attractive to customers. As previously reported in the media, the new flagship is rumored to feature an unannounced new 200-megapixel primary camera.
There is still no word out on the rest of the Galaxy S23 Ultra imaging system’s configuration, but the term Hexa²pixel apparently comes from Hexa, meaning 6, so the 200-megapixel sensor may allow for 6-in-1 binning technology to make the camera work its magic. Samsung has introduced high pixel sensors in the past, but critics and testers have said that aside from the high pixel biao, they can only be described as comparable to the imaging of other competing devices.
