Samsung is selling a lot of mid-range smartphones every year. A large part of its smartphone revenue comes from devices like the Galaxy A33 5G and Galaxy A53 5G. However, Samsung may cancel one of its mid-range mobile devices next year.
According to a new GalaxyClub report, Samsung may not launch the Galaxy A74 phone in 2023. This comes after leaks about the Samsung Galaxy A14 5G, Galaxy A24, Galaxy A34 5G and Galaxy A54. But until the end of the year, no information about the Galaxy A74 has leaked.
If Samsung does not launch the Galaxy A74 again, then the Galaxy A54 will be Samsung’s most expensive mid-range smartphone. Samsung is expected to simplify its smartphone lineup, which is good for both consumers and Samsung’s software development team.
Previously revealed, the Samsung Galaxy A54 will feature a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate and in-screen fingerprint recognition. It will also feature a 50MP primary camera (possibly with OIS support) and a 12MP ultra-wide angle camera. The phone is expected to come with OIS optical stabilization, a 32-megapixel selfie camera, and 4K video recording.
Samsung will also bring a faster Exynos 1380 chip to the Galaxy A54. There are four high-performance CPU cores, compared to the two Exynos 128 used in the Galaxy A53 5G. The device may also have 5G, GPS, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, USB Type-C port, stereo speakers and IP68 water and dust resistance, with a built-in 5100mAh battery.
