As we all know, the mobile image sensors that everyone can access are mainly OmniVision’s OV series, Samsung ISOCELL series, and Sony IMX series. Among them, Samsung is mainly known for its high pixels, such as S5KHP1, HP2 wait.
According to the latest news from @Revegnus, Samsung’s new generation of high-resolution ISOCELL sensors will be mass-produced in the second half of 2024, including at least three models:
HP7: 200 million pixels, unit pixel area 0.6μm
GN6: 50 million pixels, unit pixel area 1.6μm
HU1: 440 million pixels
It is worth mentioning that none of the existing flagship chips can meet the needs of 440MP sensors (Note: Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 has a single camera with a maximum of 200MP), so these new sensors will most likely need to be used with the next-generation SoC, at least it must also be equipped with a strong enough ISP image chip, and no terminal models will be on the market until the corresponding solution appears.
