Apple is now moving supplies for the screen panels of its coming device in favour of Samsung. This will make the South Korean company the major supplier of screens for the coming iPhone series. BOE for its part might as well fall in line with the supplier of a limited number of panels to Apple.

Development of the iPhone 14 series that’ll launch in the fourth quarter of the year is already in motion. Previous leaks have shown the difference in the design of individual devices within this series. Our source has as well confirmed that there will also be a difference in the screen type between all four models of the 14 series.

The two Pro models will flex an LTPO screen panel, while the LTPS panels will be in use on the non-Pro models. Another notable difference between the screen of iPhone 14 models is the camera cutout. Pro models will adopt a pill shape cutout, while the others will stick to a notch.

Samsung will supply a total of 80 million panels to drive the production of the iPhone 14 series. BOE lost out on the supply of the 14 series panel earlier this year, but might be back on track to supply panels to Apple. LG and BOE will supply the rest panels, with the latter supplies being the least.
