Samsung Unpacked launch new product summary

A lot of pictures warning. The Samsung Unpacked event is less than a week away, and the theme of the event is “Unfold Your World”, Samsung will launch many new products including Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Watch 5, Galaxy The event will feature a number of new products including Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. Before the official launch, foreign technology media 91Mobile brought a detailed rendering of the new products.

Galaxy Z Fold 4

Since the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 instead of Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, a 15% improvement in CPU performance is expected, according to a tweet by Ahmed Qwaider. In addition, GPU performance should see a 59% improvement, with the chip’s NPU unit performing 68% better than its predecessor.

Under the hood, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is said to be equipped with a 4400mAh battery that supports a 25W charging head and the screen brightness has been increased to 1000 nits, although the source does not mention whether this value is typical or peak brightness. There is also no mention of whether that brightness level is for larger displays or for smaller ones, but a 120Hz refresh rate is certain to be possessed.

Korean media Naver has recently revealed the price of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 in the Korean market. The 256GB model Fold 4 will cost the same as its predecessor at 1998700 KRW ($10,393.48), while the 512GB model will cost 2097700 KRW ($10,908.29). This means that the domestic price (12GB+512GB) will likely remain at $14,999.

Galaxy Z Flip 4

In terms of configuration, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, complemented by an 8GB RAM + 512GB ROM storage combination. The internal main screen is a 6.7-inch @ FHD+ resolution AMOLED with 120Hz high refresh support, while the external is a 2.1-inch AMOLED touchscreen.

The front selfie camera is a single 10MP camera, while the rear has a dual 12MP sensor. The battery is expected to be 3400 or 3700 mAh and support 25W wired / 10W wireless charging. On the software side, the Galaxy Z Flip4 will come with Android 12-based UI 4.x pre-installed and will be supported by major updates for years to come.

BGR notes that Samsung’s website accidentally lists additional color options for the Galaxy Z Flip4 (including 71 for the Bespoke custom version), but it’s unclear if pre-order customers will be able to take advantage of them. Previously, we already knew about Samsung’s four base colorways for the Galaxy Z Flip4, namely Graphite, Pink Gold, Bora Purple, and BLue.

Galaxy Watch 5 Series

The former, codenamed Project X, will be available in black or gray titanium and will offer a cellular version with LTE connectivity.

The regular Galaxy Watch5, codenamed Heart, corresponds to the standard Watch4 in 2021. this model is also available in LTE or Bluetooth versions, along with two case sizes (only the larger of the two is shown here), and a broader color palette than the Pro series. Both will run wearOS 3.5 with the One UI Watch 4.5 skin.

Citing Dealntech, the Galaxy Watch 5 is priced a bit cheaper than its predecessor, with the Galaxy Watch 5 40mm priced at €259 (Bluetooth only) and the 44mm version priced at €286. The Galaxy Watch 5 Pro (Bluetooth only) is priced at €430, a significant price increase compared to last year’s model.

Galaxy Buds 2 Pro

The leaked spec sheet suggests that the Galaxy Buds2 Pro has a built-in 10mm driver, supports Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, and includes multiple microphones on each earbud for optimal HD voice pickup and noise cancellation. Samsung is expected to use “intelligent active noise cancellation” technology on the Buds2 Pro, which blocks out more outside noise than the older Galaxy Buds.

The Galaxy Buds2 Pro will also allegedly bring 360-degree audio to provide a more immersive experience in supported apps. The source also mentions an IPX7 rating, just like the original Galaxy Buds Pro, which can be submerged in water up to 1 meter deep for half an hour. A single charge will bring 8 hours of playback time, with a range of up to 29 hours with the addition of the charging case. The charging case will be able to charge wirelessly as well as through its USB-C port.

The report speculates that the Buds2 Pro will go on public sale on August 26. They will be available in Zenith Grey, Zenith White and Bora Purple and will retail for €229 in Europe and $229 in the US.
