In addition to the Galaxy Tab S9 flagship tablet series, Samsung seems to be developing a new Fan Edition tablet for 2023. Benchmarks show that Samsung is working on two Fan Edition tablets using the same Exynos chip.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S9
A Samsung tablet with model number SM-X516B has appeared on Geekbench, believed to be the Galaxy Tab S9 FE. Later, another tablet appeared with the model number SM-X616B.
Given that the high-end Galaxy Tab S9, Tab S9+, and Tab S9 Ultra models include the SM-X716, SM-X816, and SM-X916, it’s reasonable to assume the newly discovered SM-X516B and SM-X616B are the weaker variants of the Tab S9 flagship tablet. model, expected to be the FE version.
According to the benchmark website, these two mysterious tablets have at least one thing in common with the Galaxy A54 5G, both use the Exynos 1380 chip, which is confirmed by the “s5e8835” motherboard and the “energy_ware” governor.
The Exynos 1380 chip has four Cortex-A78 CPU cores clocked at 2.4GHz, four Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0GHz, and a Mali-G68 MP5 graphics chip.
The SM-X516B tablet is expected to be a smaller Galaxy Tab S9 FE variant with a lower price and 6GB of RAM, while the SM-X616B may have a larger display and a higher price with 8GB of RAM. It runs Android 13 system pre-installed.
