According to foreign technology media MobileFun report, Samsung plans to launch the second generation of Galaxy SmartTag tracker in October this year, with a new appearance design, equipped with a larger circular punch hole, easy to snap directly into the key chain.
According to the media report, the second-generation Galaxy SmartTag tracker will be available in black with MPN number EI-T5600BBEGEU and white with MPN EI-T5600BWEGEU, in addition to the official four-piece set (2 black + 2 white) with MPN number EI-T5600KWEGEU.
Samsung’s first generation Galaxy SmartTag standard version supports Bluetooth, in addition, there is a Plus version that supports UWB, and in the second generation Galaxy SmartTag no longer distinguishes between the two technologies, the default supports Bluetooth and UWB.
It was previously reported that Galaxy SmartTag is a Bluetooth tracker launched by Samsung, similar to Tile or AirTag, that can be used to find nearby items, such as keys, wallets, etc., and the previous version can only be used in conjunction with Samsung cell phones. The new device will incorporate Ultra Wide Band (UWB) technology to more accurately locate the device’s position. When the device is far away, it will need to rely on a nearby smartphone network to update location information.
