Samsung released the mobile solid-state drive T7 Shield in April last year, only in 1TB and 2TB versions. Recently, Samsung launched the 4TB version of the T7 Shield mobile solid-state drive. This hard drive is available for pre-sale today, and only the dark night version is available. The pre-sale price is CNY 2499.
The Samsung T7 Shield claims to be resistant to drops of up to 3 meters and is also certified IP65 rated for dust and water resistance. Despite the new durable design, the T7 Shield is still compact and lightweight, weighing only about 98 grams.
The T7 Shield has a read speed of 1050MB/s and a write speed of 1000MB/s, which is the highest transfer speed Samsung currently has based on the USB 3.2 Gen2 standard. This is approximately twice the speed of its Samsung T5 and 9.5 times faster than the Samsung external mechanical drive HX-MTD10EA.
Samsung has also optimized the product internally and externally to avoid performance degradation and overheating problems when transferring large files by changing the surface material and improving the T7 Shield’s software. Thanks to this improvement, performance is maintained even when transferring 2TB of files at once.
