South Korea’s Samsung SDI said Monday that it will supply electric vehicle (EV) batteries to Hyundai Motor for seven years starting in 2026, the first battery supply agreement between the two companies.
Samsung SDI said in a statement, “The latest supply agreement marks the first collaboration between Samsung and Hyundai Motor Group in the field of electric vehicle batteries.”
The battery maker, which supplies General Motors, Stellantis, BMW and others, added that it will supply prismatic batteries produced at its Hungarian plant for Hyundai Motor Company’s electric vehicles for the European market from 2026 to 2032.
