Samsung Display issued a press release today, saying that it cooperated with the car brand MINI to showcase a new 9.45-inch Automotive OLED at the Cologne exhibition in Germany.

It was previously reported that MINI is about to launch a new pure electric model Cooper EV, the biggest highlight of which is the use of a circular central control screen with a diameter of 9.45 inches, which is the industry’s first display of the same type using OLED technology.
Samsung said in a blog post that the new MINI car machine uses the MINI Operating System 9 car machine system developed based on the AOSP open source project, covering all major functions such as multimedia playback, navigation, climate control, fuel display and voice commands.
The MINI Operating System 9 car-machine system supports 5G wireless connection, GPS, MINI experience mode, 30 new sound signals, MINI intelligent personal assistant, MINI navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, MINI Digital Key Plus, and can be upgraded through OTA.
Samsung and MINI showcased the OLED screen at Cologne on a cylindrical display tower called the MINI Incubator and showcased 10 OLED panels.
