It is said that Samsung has decided to raise NAND prices by 20% quarter by quarter in the first and second quarters of next year, after raising NAND prices by 10-20% in the current quarter, which is a series of actions for Samsung to try to stabilize NAND prices and to reach the goal of reversing the market in the first half of next year.
According to the report, Samsung Executive Vice President Kim Jae-joon announced at the earnings meeting on October 31, the company’s next production cuts will be larger than the current DRAM output reduction. At present, Samsung is actively raising the offer at the same time, but also through continued production cuts to control the market supply.
As previously reported, according to TrendForce’s report published in September, the second quarter NAND Flash market demand is still low, and the oversupply situation continues to make the second quarter average selling price (ASP) of NAND Flash continue to fall by 10~15%. Since the second quarter of this year, Samsung to join the ranks of production cuts, the third quarter to expand the scope of production cuts, supply convergence is also brewing at the same time price increases, oversupply situation is expected to improve.
