Samsung has been making and selling its Galaxy Z line of folding screen phones for some time, but last year the company surprised everyone by lowering the price of the Galaxy Z Flip 3, which at the time started at $999. It was the first time Samsung had dropped the price of a foldable phone to under $1,000. Well, with the Galaxy Z Flip 4 less than a month away, it looks like it could change again, but this time in the direction of a price hike.

According to the latest leaks, the European price of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 is likely to start at around €1,080 (about $1,098). However, if you want to upgrade to 256G you may have to pay 1160 euros, and paying 1280 euros you can also get the 512G version.

Considering Samsung’s habit of keeping prices similar between the U.S. and Europe, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 can be expected to start at $1,099 in the U.S., which is an increase of $100 over its predecessor as well. It is also feared that the first news of a price increase in the European region is related to the recent significant devaluation of the Euro.

This pricing leak has some folding screen phone enthusiasts starting to worry if the Galaxy Z Flip 4 is launched at $1099. Then what will be the price of the Galaxy Z Fold 4? Because it’s the more advanced model of the two folding phones.

Samsung will unveil the new Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 at its Unpacked event on August 10. both devices, as well as the wearable, are now available for pre-order.
