The Japanese version has only 1 rear camera on the back, while the international version has a 50MP+5MP+2MP+2MP quad-camera combination on the back. The biggest difference is that the Japanese version of the Galaxy A23 5G has added IP68 water and dust resistance support, which means it is more resistant to falls and more durable.

The Japanese version of the Galaxy A23 5G comes with a 5.8-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution and V-shaped bangs. The phone comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, and a microSD card slot (up to 1TB). It runs Android 12-based One UI 4.1 right out of the box.

The Japanese version of the Galaxy A23 5G features a 50MP F1.8 aperture rear camera on the back with support for Full HD video recording at 30fps. On the front is a 5-megapixel camera.

Samsung has equipped the phone with a side-mounted fingerprint reader, GPS, 5G, Nano SIM card slot, eSIM, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It is powered by a 4,000mAh battery and supports up to 15W of fast charging. It retails for 32,800 yen (about $231).
