Samsung launches PRO Plus SD and microSD cards with 180 MBps read speed

In the field of UHS-I SD and microSD cards, Samsung is also a veteran player. Today, the company announced an update to the PRO Plus SD and microSD memory cards.

The 2023 memory cards have increased read speeds to 180 MBps and write speeds to 130 MBps, and the new cards are said to guarantee a minimum write speed of 30 MBps even in the worst-case scenario. For comparison, the 2021 model has a read/write speed of 160 MBps and 120 MBps.

The PRO Plus series continues its standard of durability (able to withstand extreme processing and storage conditions), along with a 10-year warranty. Samsung says the Pro Plus Series microSD memory cards and SD memory cards are optimized for professional use and feature a V30 video speed rating.

Pricing for the cards starts at $13 (currently about RMB 89,) but the company also offers a set of USB 3.0 card readers for up to $65 (currently about RMB 447).
