Samsung Electronics announced that its latest LPDDR5X DRAM has been validated to achieve the industry’s fastest speed of 8.5Gbps and is available on the Snapdragon platform. According to Daniel Lee, executive vice president of Samsung Electronics’ memory product planning team, the availability of 8.5Gbps LPDDR5X DRAM is the result of Samsung’s long-term collaboration with Qualcomm.

(From: Samsung Newsroom)

Ziad Asghar, vice president of product management at Qualcomm Technologies, believes this breakthrough will enhance the user experience as the first company in the mobile industry to enable 8.5Gbps LPDDR5X on the Snapdragon mobile platform.

For users, Samsung’s successful 8.5Gbps LPDDR5X DRAM can provide more potential for gaming, camera and AI applications in cell phones.

Not surprisingly, the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen2 processor is expected to debut with support for Samsung’s 8.5Gbps LPDDR5X DRAM.
