Samsung Japan has officially announced that starting February 28, Samsung will no longer use the “Galaxy Mobile” brand for its online stores, social media accounts, and support centers in Japan, but will instead reintroduce the “Samsung” brand.
Samsung’s Japanese website, social media accounts, YouTube channel, and offline authorized stores will ditch the “Galaxy” brand and revert to the “Samsung” brand.
Samsung adjusted its Japanese brand name in 2015 to use the “Galaxy” brand. Samsung Japan’s social media accounts and YouTube channel are called “Galaxy Mobile Japan” and its customer centers are called “Galaxy Customer Centers.
The change will help Samsung take on competitors like Apple in the country. To mark the occasion, Samsung’s rebranded online store offers special deals for Galaxy Care, which, oddly enough, has not been renamed Samsung Care.
