Samsung India Galaxy Tab S6 Lite LTE starts pushing Android 12L and UI 4.1.1 update

A few months ago, Samsung released the Android 12L-based One UI 4.1.1 update for the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite. However, the update was limited to the Wi-Fi version of the tablet. Now, Samsung has finally released the Android 12L update for the LTE version of the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite.

The Android 12L (One UI 4.1.1) update for the LTE version of the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is rolling out in India. Other countries/regions may get this update in the coming days. The firmware version of this new software is P619XXU1AVJ2, but it is still using the security patch from September 2022.

Galaxy Tab S6 Lite LTE users in India can now download the One UI 4.1.1 update based on Android 12L by navigating to Settings – Software Updates and clicking on “Download and Install”.

What’s new in the Android 12L update for the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite?
This update brings the Android 12L taskbar to the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite. It makes multitasking a breeze. Users can drag and drop app icons on either side of the screen to start side-by-side multitasking. Users can also use App handles (at the top center of the app window) to minimize, maximize, or open apps in a pop-up view. App pairs can also be created and pinned to the taskbar.

Samsung has also added a two-finger swipe gesture to open a side-by-side multitasking view. The names of apps can now be seen on the Edge panel. With the new update, users can extract text from images and screenshots thanks to Bixby Vision OCR. This feature is available in the built-in Camera, Gallery and Samsung Keyboard apps. One UI 4.1.1 also suggests actions for such copied text. For example, if the extracted text is a phone number, the software will display the call option directly.

The latest firmware also brings individual call background settings for each contact. the search function within One UI and the built-in applications has been greatly improved. The new software also replaces Google Duo with Google Meet. the Samsung keyboard offers the ability to rearrange buttons for emojis, stickers and other expressions. It also allows direct input of Kaomojis.

In the Samsung Internet Web browser, users can drag and drop bookmarks within folders. For the lock screen, wallpaper sets can be created and edited. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite will get the One UI 5.0 update based on Android 13 sometime in the first quarter of 2023.
