Samsung has updated more than a dozen smartphones to One UI 5.0 based on Android 13 and even released the update for several mid-range models before some of its flagships, SamMobile reported.

Sally Hyesoon Jeong, vice president of Android framework development at Samsung Electronics, said in an interview that One UI 5.0 is currently being rolled out in most markets around the world. From an engineering and product management perspective, it’s impossible to give a definite date for every eligible model, but “we hope to complete the rollout within this year.

Updates such as One UI 5.0 and One UI 4.0 are described as focusing on delivering a new software experience alongside the Android OS upgrade. When Samsung launches a new foldable device, the software experience will be further optimized for foldable devices.

Samsung held a developer conference in October this year and confirmed that the One UI 5.0 update will be pushed to the Galaxy S22 series starting in October and pushed to the remaining flagship products by 2023.
