According to foreign technology media SamMyFans report, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 body weight of 250 grams, compared with the Z Fold4 reduced by 13 grams. The folded thickness is 13.4mm, which is also slightly reduced compared to the 14.2mm of Fold 4.

Samsung has set internal target values for the weight and thickness of the Galaxy Z Fold 5. The current test prototype weighs 254 grams, and Samsung officials are confident that the weight will be further reduced after the launch.

The report also points out that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 does away with the traditional U-shaped hinge and will use a new teardrop-shaped hinge design. When the screen is folded, there is no gap contact between the two sides, and the folded phone can be made thinner. Considering the thickness and internal space, Samsung decided not to include the S Pen in this new foldable smartphone.
