The Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event brought two foldable devices along with the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 series. This new smartwatch series from Samsung comes with a Pro and two vanilla models. Both models have new features from Samsung to help prospective buyers monitor their health effortlessly.

This watch series comes in an Armor Aluminum case for the Vanilla models and a Titanium case for the Pro model. The dimensions for the vanilla model are 44mm and 40mm while the Pro model comes with a 45.4mm dimension. One Vanilla model of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 comes with a 1.2-inch screen size, while the other comes with 1.4-inch screen size. But, the Pro model comes with 1.4-inch screen size, and all three models have a Super AMOLED display.
Samsung offers up to 60% resistance to scratches on all three models, and they as well support 5ATM water resistance. There are different straps available on this device for all models, but certain colours are limited to certain models, as we took note of in this article. The 44mm Vanilla model comes in two colours, Graphite Sapphire and Silver, while the 40mm Vanilla model comes in Graphite Pink Gold and Silver.
All three watch models use the Exynos W920 Dual-Core 1.18GHz processor. This processor will get support from 1.5GB RAM and 16GB worth of internal storage. The Pro model has the largest battery capacity as it comes with a 590mAh battery. For the Vanilla models, the 44mm watch comes with a 410mAh battery capacity and the 40mm watch will 284mAh battery capacity.
The new Samsung Galaxy Watch will run on Google Wear OS with the company’s One UI Watch4.5 which will pack extra features. Health sensors on this watch are BioActive sensors and temperature sensors. All watches in this watch are compatible with Android 8 and above.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 series price and availability
The new smart watches from Samsung are available for purchase on the company’s website. The 40mm Vanilla model retails for $280 for its Bluetooth model, while the LTE model retails at $330. The 44mm Vanilla model comes with similar pricing to the 40mm model.
The Pro model starts with a $450 price tag for the Bluetooth model, while it the $500 for the LTE model. Samsung also launched a golf edition for the new Galaxy Watch series, which retails at prices slightly above the original models. All models are available in most regions, as they are available on Samsung sites across the globe.
