Samsung is offering the ability to control the camera on its smartphones through a paired Galaxy Watch. Previously the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 series watches added zoom zoom controls, and now the new feature is starting to roll out to the Galaxy Watch 4 series.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic have started a new software update that adds the ability to adjust the camera zoom controls through the Camera Controller app. However, to use this feature, connected smartwatches need to be running One UI 5.1, which has not yet been released for any Galaxy smartphone. the One UI 5.1 update is expected to roll out a few days after the release of the Galaxy S23 series.
The update also brings a new device diagnostic tool and some stability fixes. The new diagnostic tool allows checking if the smartwatch components (such as battery condition, display, microphone, speaker and charging) are working as expected. To use the new features, users need to use the Samsung Members app on a connected smartphone.
