Samsung will release a number of new devices at the Galaxy Unpacked 2023 event next month, including Galaxy Buds 3, Galaxy Watch 6, Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5. However, before the official announcement, the appearance and some functions of these devices have been exposed by the well-known whistleblower Evan Blass (@evleaks).
Blass tweeted out a series of official renders of Samsung’s new devices, showing off their designs and colors. Among them, the Galaxy Buds 3 is Samsung’s new generation of wireless headphones, with a white appearance, and support for active noise reduction and wireless charging. The Galaxy Watch 6 is Samsung’s next-generation smartwatch, and it comes in two versions: the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic and the Galaxy Watch 6. The former brings back Samsung’s signature rotating bezel, while the latter features a bezel-less design. Both watches have narrower bezels and larger circular screens and are expected to feature the One UI 5 Watch interface based on the Wear OS 4 system and feature an accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, GPS, heart rate monitor, EKG, Body composition analysis and blood pressure measurement function.
In addition, Samsung will launch two folding-screen phones: Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5. The former is a clamshell folding phone with a huge external screen and dual cameras, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor inside, and is dust and water-resistant. The latter is a tablet-style folding phone that hasn’t changed much from the previous generation but uses a new teardrop-shaped hinge that reduces screen creases and allows for seamless folding. The phone is also powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and supports the S Pen Fold Edition stylus.
As for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series of tablets, it has previously been reported that it will consist of three devices – the Galaxy Tab S9 (probably the smallest size), the Tab S9+ (a larger middle option) and the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. The Ultra model will feature a 14.6-inch Super AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate.
It was previously reported that Samsung will hold a global new product launch event in Seoul, South Korea on July 27, 2023. This is the first time the company has held a global launch event in South Korea. The new devices are expected to be available for pre-order the week of the launch and to ship in August.
