It’s been a while since Samsung updated its budget-grade tablet Galaxy Tab A series. According to a new leak, a new Tab A7 (2022) model will be released soon. The leak shows little change in the form factor of the new tablet, which looks like the Galaxy Tab A7 10.4 model released in 2020 from both the front and back.
In fact, Samsung may actually be reusing some parts, maybe even the device casing, because like its 2020 predecessor, the new Tab A7 (2022) comes with the same 10.4-inch, 1200 x 2000 pixel LCD display, an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel selfie shooter, plus a 7040 mAh battery. All these specifications have changed very little.
The main change in the new model is said to be the chip. The 2022 model of the tablet will be equipped with the Purple UNISOC T618, a 12nm SoC manufactured by TSMC FinFET process containing two ARM Cortex-A75 cores at 2.0GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores also at 2.0GHz, paired with a Mali G52MP2 GPU and optional LTE connectivity. It replaces the Snapdragon 662 in the Tab A7 2020 model, which may actually be a downgrade. The new Tab A7 (2022) is said to have 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.
On a more positive note, the new Galaxy Tab A7 (2022) could launch at a lower price than its predecessor. Sources indicate a suggested retail price of 199 euros.
