According to the GalaxyClub website, the Galaxy Ring will be the first Samsung device to adopt the new “SM-Q” sequence, with the specific model number SM-Q500.
Prior to this, Samsung wearables had model numbers starting with “SM-R.” For example, the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro earphones have the model number “SM-R510” and the 40mm Galaxy Watch 6 has the model number “SM-R930.”
Apart from this, the Galaxy Ring will come in different region codes such as EUA, EUB, EUC, EUD, EUE and EUF in the European market, while there will also be other region codes such as XAR and ASA.
The website predicts that the Samsung Galaxy Ring will be launched at the same time as the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6. The latest news suggests that this will happen at this summer’s Unpacked event, which is expected to be in early July.
According to previous reports, Samsung MX (mobile experience) head Lu Taiwen previously revealed some information about its first smart ring, the Galaxy Ring, during the MWC 2024 exhibition.
Lu Taiwen revealed that the Galaxy Ring can be used for 5-9 days on a single charge and can be charged using a pogo pin probe connector and a dedicated adapter. In terms of function, this ring has a variety of built-in sensors that can track the user’s blood oxygen saturation and sleep status. It is reported that the Galaxy Ring can also track heart rate, steps and exercise status.
