Samsung Galaxy S24 series will not use Exynos processors, likely to use Qualcomm Snapdragon

According to sammobile reports, Samsung’s flagship mobile phone Galaxy S24 series will not use Exynos processors, but will choose Snapdragon 8 Gen3. In other words, the Samsung S24 series will be consistent with the S23 series, and only models with Qualcomm Snapdragon processor versions will be released.

The Exynos processor is a high-end chip developed by Samsung based on the ARM CPU core, and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is a new flagship chip that Qualcomm will release later. According to previous news, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen3 will continue to use the “1+4+3” architecture of Snapdragon 8 Gen2. Among them, the super large core is based on the ARM public version Cortex-X4, the large core is based on the Cortex-A715, and the small core is based on the Cortex-A515. In terms of main frequency, Samsung’s customized high-frequency version will reach 3.72GHz, and the standard version is expected to be around 3.5-3.6GHz.

Samsung Exynos processor

It should be noted that in the newly released Galaxy S23 series, Samsung has reached a new cooperation with Qualcomm, that is, Qualcomm will create an exclusive processor for Samsung. This processor has a higher CPU and GPU clock speed, and in exchange Samsung cannot use other chips in the flagship model, only this custom chip can be used. As the cooperation between the two parties deepens, Qualcomm will launch an exclusive custom Snapdragon chip for Samsung Galaxy phones in 2025. This custom chip will use Samsung’s 3GAP production process.
