Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra would feature Samsung’s new ISOCELL HP2 200MP sensor as its primary sensor, and now the latest news reveals that it appears to have replaced almost all of its camera sensors.
According to a new screenshot detailing the Galaxy S23 Ultra’s specs, Samsung has changed all of the camera sensors on the camera, except for the 10MP 3x and 10x telephoto units, which are still Sony IMX754 sensors.
Firstly, the screenshot reaffirms that the Galaxy S23 Ultra uses the ISOCELL HP2 main sensor, which is an upgrade from the ISOCELL HM3. The screenshot also shows that the 12MP ultra-wide sensor is the Sony IMX564, not the IMX563. The IMX564 sensor appears to be new and no detailed specs are available at this time.
In addition to the rear camera, the screenshot also reconfirms that the Galaxy S23 Ultra selfie camera is a downgrade as far as total pixels are concerned. While the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s selfie camera uses a 40-megapixel ISOCELL GH1 sensor, the Galaxy S23 Ultra appears to use a 12-megapixel ISOCELL 3LU sensor. The name of this sensor has not been officially announced, so either the app has got this detail wrong or Samsung has developed a new 12MP ISOCELL (3LU) sensor for the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
Current breaking information relating to the Galaxy S23 Ultra camera suggests that the upcoming flagship will outperform the Galaxy S22 Ultra in most areas, especially in low-light photography.
